Charlotte Goldie the Dog needs a home

Saved in Memory of Goldie - Best Dog Ever!
The GOLDIE Transport just arrived at Joyful Rescues, saving 19 lives. This transport was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Yudikaitis, parents of our staff member, Katie, in loving memory of Katie's "Best Dog Ever", Goldie. We thank them for choosing to honor Goldie with a living tribute, and hope the furry lives saved provide a bit of a silver lining to Katie's loss.

Story on BUTCH and CHARLOTTE from the shelter manager : These are two pretty special dogs. They belonged to Kelli Hale who was the treasurer for our Humane Society for 20 years. She passed away suddenly, last February. She was 56 yrs old. She had 9 dogs....her husband refused to talk with me about what would happen to her beloved pets. Her 89 yr old mother ended up with the two dogs and she died this past Friday. So guess where these two dogs ended up? Yup....at our high-kill shelter. Fortunately, I recognized them.
Charlotte is one of those dogs.  She was a stray who was found matted and pregnant. Kelli took her home and cared for her after her babies were still-born. She has known nothing but love and comfort since Kelli found her. And now she too is in our high-kill shelter. If Joyful Rescues could help with these two...I would be very grateful!

Charlotte was born about December 16, 2014 and weighs about 57 lbs.  She is WONDERFUL with the other dogs and would love a confident dog or two in her next life along with a human home much of the time.  Charlotte is shy of new humans (never aggressive!), but once she loves someone she LOVES someone!  She follows us all over all day and there is a lot of movement here so by the end of the day she is tuckered and just wants to snuggle with you.  We are still working on her jumping up, it's just that she wants to have as much of her as close to you as she can.  She is a bit rough about asking for love such as whacking your arm to get your attention so probably no tender little kids or elderly in her next life.  We also feel that once she has all the love she desires (we are too busy here and too many dogs to spend hours loving one dog) that her need to ask for love will diminish as she is satisfied, content, and happy in a real home with her own humans again.  Charlotte did fine in our cat test.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $200.00.

Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.

Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.

YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES

We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
